Hotel New Otani Tokyo

Hotel New Otani Tokyo opened in September 1964 to accommodate guests from all over the world visiting our city for the Olympic Games. In the 60 years since, we have been striving to always offer "new" hospitality, constantly updating our services and facilities.

We pride ourselves in providing our guests with the best dining experience, opening a branch location of the esteemed Tour d'Argent Paris on our premises in 1984. Our dining events are also well known, including the gala held in 1998 featuring the acclaimed Alain Ducasse, who had yet to open his restaurant in Japan.

We work closely with farmers and producers throughout the country, seeking the best ingredients to serve in our restaurants and banquets. Ozaki Beef is one such example of the viand we sought out, and we are proud to present this full course dinner that includes rare cuts of the most precious wagyu, each prepared in a way that best suits it.

Muneharu Ozaki, the legendary producer of Ozaki Beef

Ozaki Beef is a much-sought-after wagyu raised at a single cattle farm located within the rich natures of Miyazaki prefecture. Only 30 cattle are distributed to the Japanese market each month, resulting in its rarity. Where typically the cattle are shipped out approximately 28 months after birth, Ozaki cattle are shipped at 30 - 34 months based on a unique method that is likened to “aging of meat while alive", which contributes to the delicate and balanced fat marbling and sublime flavors.

Nobuhide Tani, Hotel New Otani Tokyo’s celebrated Executive Head Sommelier, will select the best wines to be paired with Ozaki Beef. This year's selection will focus on "bouquet and finish".
