Hakata Amaou® - the King of Strawberries
Prime-shaped Hakata Amaou® strawberries are selected, and approximately eight are used per piece of Extra Super Amaou Shortcake. The strawberries are marinated in sunflower honey from France, to be used a whole, half-slice, and diced for varying textures and tastes.
Whipped Cream
Almond cream is sweetened with Japanese Wasanbon sugar and whipped into a smooth, melty cream to immaculately complement the Amaou strawberries.
Two Layers of Cake
The layer of sponge cake made with eggs from brown rice-fed chickens provides a fluff, airy texture with a light aftertaste, while the layer made with high-quality wheat flour mixed with Hotel New Otani’s original multi-grain “J-cereal” flour provides a rich texture with a palatable aftertaste.
